SSOC Men\'s Club Meets

The SSOC Men’s Club met on Friday, November 14 after daily reader Vespers. Brother Gregory Stevens led the meeting with an activity near and dear to Men’s Club members, the art of home brewing!!!

In fact, brewing has a long and interesting history and link to monasticism. It was not uncommon in Europe for monasteries to brew beer as a means of monastery support. Of course the SSOC Men’s Club did not need a monastic link to validate the evening’s activity, but it certainly enhanced the fellowship.

The SSOC home brew is a quick fermenting recipe which is excepted to be ready for bottling in two weeks. Sounds like another Men’s Club meeting is in order.

Many thanks to Rod Dreher who provided the funds to buy the home brew kit and to Brother Gregory for his brewing talents.
